When was the last *nix worm??? last one I know of was 1988 Yes any system can be hacked into. Any system that features remote access in the default setups (SSH) will give a better edge to hackers. From there on the differences are know because how many nix systems propogate a virus the way windows does--- answer none. By simpling not launching executables in emails the number of viruses affected drops by 90%. (50% of all statistics are made up) I thought once I was found, but it was only a dream. |

There was one at least in 2001, the Ramen worm: http://www.sans.org/y2k/ramen.htm I am pretty sure there were others later. Not many, but not 1988 either ;-) |
