When you add a repository to your system, anyone who has access to that repository can install software on your system. That's how it's supposed to work (the latest versions of Teamviewer work the same way, see https://community.teamviewer.com/t5/Knowledge-Base/How-to-up...). If you don't trust a repository, don't add it or remove it afterwards. It sounds like the only thing Microsoft is doing wrong is not notifying the user it was adding the repository and giving him a chance to decline doing so. |
