As a subscriber from the very beginning (and the embedded version too if anybody remembers that) I was not really happy when they went away from paper to pdf but it was still good enough often enough to put up with the inconvenience. At the time rising postal prices and limited audience had started putting the pinch of a couple of other of paper magazines that I have recently had to abandon because of cost. I was really hoping that Linux Journal could escape this fate with the all electronic versions but alas it was not to be. RIP. |

That is sad, but I'm not surprised. Few people want to pay for quality content when there is so much free content available online. The print newspapers also struggle for survival. |

> The print newspapers also struggle for survival. True, but lumping print newspapers in with quality content is a category error. And if they're that worried about their archives, they should give copies to the Linux Foundation, Debian, and Red Hat, then also upload them to Pirate Bay. |

The archives are probably considered "assets" and therefore can't be given away until debts are settled. |
