Only 2 of the suggestions are GNU software, so the title is a bit off the mark. |

Agreed. But {Apache,GNU,MIT,PSF,Public Domain}ifying Windows didn't fit. |

Aye. Just me being pedantic after a couple of scotches this evening. ;) Cheers for the link to sc1 by the way. Somehow missed that. A tool I could throw in the mix would be ConEmu: https://conemu.github.io/ A great console emulator that you can embed other programs in. I have it setup to handle all my putty sessions, cygwin, msysgit, various mingw environments and more. It is the one tool I would probably be lost without. |

hkwint wrote:{Apache,GNU,MIT,PSF,Public Domain}ifying Windows didn't fit That doesn't make any sense. "GNU" should only be used to refer to software written by or for the GNU Project. Not software under the GNU General Public License. So using "GPLifying" or "UNIXifying" in the title would make more sense. |

I agree AwesomeTux, maye ''freeing" might have cut it. Time went mostly in the content and not in the title. |
