Is Mark ready to trade his benevolent dictator status for cash already? |

@Steven_R, Tentative rebuttals aside, many of us probably KNEW this was inevitable for the cash-hungry "new M$" dictator and his minions..... ::yawn:: 2c |

If you thought Canonical was bad before as an Ltd., just wait until they are a publicly traded company that is FORCED to become profitable no matter what it takes. Here's a look at what Canonical and Ubuntu will probably resemble not long after the IPO: http://www.redhat.com/en |

Debian will always be there for us. Mark can do whatever he wants with his company. I stopped caring some time ago, once I realized that his opinion is the only one that matters in the supposed "Ubuntu Community". |

Considering the controversy regarding Riddell and being told to "step aside" from any leadership role with Kubuntu, would it really be a good idea to have an IPO at this point? If Shuttleworth wants his vision to be unveiled, he'll want to remain in control. With shareholders, that becomes more difficult. |
