I don't mind Firefox getting money from any company paying them to make their search engine the default. And I don't mind changing it to my preference right away either. ;-) |

I wonder if these deals are exclusive? Because I'd be totally wiling to use a Firefox branded DDG. My problem with Google isn't so much their privacy invasion (although I certainly dislike that) so much as the fact that their search results have been dreadful for at least two years now. I've totally given up on them and moved on. They try so hard to be "clever", that their cleverness thwarts me from finding what I actually want. If Google circa 2003 were back, then I'd use them in a hot minute. |

@mrider I agree with you 100%. On top of bad results, it seems that they keep changing their syntax and disabling functionality. Try a search with NOT or -searchterm. It's insanely frustrating. But I haven't really found anything better yet. Have you? I'm using StartPage just for the non-tracking, but their results are even more abysmal half the time. |

I use Duck Duck Go (hence the "DDG") :) . For the most part the results are better that Google's, at least from my perspective, but probably not as good as Google from years ago. Of course that was before all the SEO shenanigans came about. |
