Software Freedom Day is this coming Saturday, but you wouldn't know it from the number of events currently registered and scheduled on their official website. The number of events scheduled in the past were: 2013 = 316 2012 = 301 2011 = 442 2010 = 397 2009 = 562 2008 = 563 2007 = 286 The current number of worldwide events scheduled for September 20th is 175. Perhaps it was a lack of press coverage or a lack of interest or even a sign of economic hardship. Well, there's always next year. Happy Software Freedom Day! |

it's 132139 now but at least one is a duplicate because the two events in beijing joined forces... btw: the map for 2014 now has 198 teams, 23 more than the_doctor observed. but he posted 4 days before the event. now it's already friday, so i doubt the number will grow much beyond 132. greetings, eMBee. |
