Whenever I see one of these posts from security outfits I wonder where the money is going to go. This especially true when it is posted in a rag like the Register. If they did indeed notify affected parties, the Unix and Linux systems already have update patches. I am not so sure about Apple. They tend to be late.

When I saw this section of a sentence: "into shell scripts executed by high-privilege users.", my brain immediately went tilt and I stopped reading. I don't know about you, but my system doesn't have "high-privilege users" that execute shell scripts from unknown sources.

What is even the point? This is not a new thing; it literally is from the eighties. This is non-news.
