The MATE community has documented how to install MATE on many distributions in the install guidelines.


The above install guidelines page describes methods for installing version 1.8 of MATE on Ubuntu Saucy(13.10) and Trusty(14.04) in the section entitled the Ubuntu Trusty Thar (14.04) repository.
