of the link going to some extra wierd PDF with a blurb about religion instead of the actual topic. Also seems to me that Tommy should also make the content as a directly visible standard webpage instead of MAKING visitors go to that PDF for the content!

The "blurb about religion" is actually the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Thomas Holbrook does say:

Quoting:On the Unix portion of this digital magazine, Debian "Wheezy" is reviewed.

That much is true, but the pdf (digital magazine) includes two other topics. If you want the direct link to the pdf, which still includes topics other than a Debian Wheezy review. it's:

@djohnson

No thanks.. would rather skip wading through the opinion-baggage and go DIRECTLY right to the key webpage content :/ Besides, someone else will likely put out their OWN good debian wheezy/stable review as a webpage instead... the baboontu fanbois will certainly keep doing so for theirs!

Incidentally, the first amendment that is quoted has one phrase emphasized using italics:

"or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press;"

Since that is the emphasized section, that is probably the point of including the quote. Freedom of speech, including written speech, is constitutionally guaranteed in the United States. A very strong argument for the legality of copyleft in the USA and therefore very on-topic for a Linux discussion.

Would you skip my blog, for having that very same quote at the top of every page?

Well, with the first amendment you're probably safe. Now, try that with the second and see what happens. :(
