This article confirms what most of us already know. Linux is everywhere and the penetration into embedded space (phones, tablets) is why. 50% marketshare isn't a monopoly but it certainly is success. If we had accurate figures on the desktop (and we don't) we'd see major growth there as well, with ChromeOS a big part of the surge. |

WHAT? That last comment was incredibly offensive on more levels than I care to mention. GoogleOS is a Linux distribution that is having success on laptops. That, IMHO, is a very good thing. |

ChromeOS (just like Android) is an extremely bastardized Linux 'distro', calling it a good thing is very misguided, it does nothing to further the GNU/Linux cause. |
