M$ going back to start button and straightboot to desktop ?

Too little, too late. OTOH, better to backpedal than to continue gulping the poison koolaid.

I find it hilarious M$ would essentially standardize the accepted desktop used by most of the planet, then totally panic and abandon it for some stupid iphone clone interface. Crickey! I tossed Windows in favor of linux years ago, yet my desktop still resembles the basic Windows format, with menus at the top and a task bar at the bottom. Much like the fork and spoon, some things reach their zenith and require no further improvement.
