ELO are incredibly prescient.

That what I was thinking when I read this article, as all I had was ELO's "Its Over" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ht8JDbWUM1E Going through my head then it occurred to me that the next Windows iteration is codenamed Blue and Its Over is from Out of the Blue these just cant be coincidences :) |

Wow,... I thought you were just kidding until I came upon the lyrics,... " It's over, it's over, it's over Vista came and passed away, hardly seemed to last a day but it's over and what can I do? Zune playin' in the air, silence on a darkened stair 'cos it's over and what can I do? It's over, it's over, all over, it's all over now and the Win8 looked don't even mean I'm down. It's over When you kick out the start menu and there is nothing much to speak of. Feelin' down, down it's all over. Feelin' down, down, down. Baby, baby, it's all gone, rolled out to XP. Lookin' over sunny days, searchin' for the righteous wave file it's over and what can I do? Lookin' from this distant app store you ain't purchasing through no more 'cos it's over IT IS OVER and what can I do? It's over, it's over, all over, it's all over now and the Win8 looked don't even mean I'm down. It's over When you kick out the start menu and there is nothing much to speak of. Feelin' down, down, it's over. Feellin' down, down, down. Ah, it's over, it's over, it's over, it's all over and what can I do? Ah, it's over, it's over, it's all over. Oh, it's over, it's over. Don't shed a tear for Win M-E, it's over, don't shed a tear although it's over." |

I like the new lyrics but not sure Jeff Lynne would approve :) |

You mean that guy's still alive?!?! I thought he was eaten by his own hair in the early 80s... |

Hmm. I wonder if Roy Orbison (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tj8OXgQ6E5g) might have something to say about the matter, if he were still with us. |

The coincidences are just piling up since Jeff and Roy were also in the same band The Traveling Wilburys this is a dark omen I tell you. |

What interests me, however, is that SJVN is essentially singing the same song I tried to put forward on this thread: http://lxer.com/module/forums/t/34536/ In my humble opinion, the line HAS now been crossed and we are watching the very slow decay of the Redmond empire. Interesting. Usually after a long slow decrease, things accelerate. I wonder if this will be the same. |

Quoting:The coincidences are just piling up since Jeff and Roy were also in the same band The Traveling Wilburys Can we get George "Handle Me With Care" Harrison in there? He was part of Apple Records who sued Apple Computer for breach of contract. Nevermind. Too obtuse. How about Frank "Penguins In Bondage" Zappa? 8^) |

Did yow know? If you play it backwards, (you have to listen carefully) it says: "Year of the Linux Desktop." edited April 16: (simplicity for the win) |

I tried playing it backwards on my parents' old turntable (mine stopped working decades ago), but it scratched the CD,... I used a CD because the SD card kept flying off the turntable due to centrifugal force. |

> "Mr. Blue Screen" Actually, since the next version of Windows is code named Blue, I can see Ballmer singing "Blue Morning, Blue Day" |
