I love reading the comments to Phoronix articles, and this one is no exception. When I was a kid I started learning 6502/6510 assembly for programming on my C64,... but didn't get very far. A shame,... I'd be a Comp. Sci. star now, if I had... But tightly coded & debugged assembly code will always outperform compiled code. Besides, the compilers themselves must have at least SOME assembly components... Anyway, I love hearing from assembly coders about their craft... |
