might be to try to get Linux images cryptographically signed by Google, so they can be booted on ChromOs machines without having to remain in Developer mode. |

I believe that is going to be the next step. Google doesn't feel threatened by Free Software and Distros. They actually look at FOSS to be the development and proving grounds, otherwise they wouldn't have helped and worked with FireFox and sponsored some of KDE projects through Google Summer of Code. Google knows other business entities need a commercial entity to furnish support to look favorably to FOSS. Google is trying to be what IBM and other large IT companies should have been. |
