OK, it's a Matt Asay piece, so I shouldn't have expected anything brilliant. In that respect I'm not disappointed. SUSE is very strong in Europe and in North America they still have a huge chunk of government business. I support a state government department and we use SLES/SLED in a big way. If SUSE satisfies its government and other enterprise customers and retains them it will be in business and profitable for the foreseeable fuuture. Matt Asay's conclusion about the health of SUSE is way, way, way off the mark. |

Unless you're talking about things like revenue and earnings, there's not much there. |

SUSE was profitable under Novell and there is no reason to believe they won't be profitable now. Distant second isn't a bad thing so long as you're making money. |
