Can anyone tell me how to get out of dependency hell trying to install dosemu in CentOS 6.3? |

Did you use this package from RPM Fusion? http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/el/updates/6/x86_64/repo... |

I don't think so. Thanks for the heads up...I will give it a try. |

When using third party repos in CentOS you really and truly need to use yum-priorities to avoid conflict. I don't believe CentOS has anything resembling "dependency hell". I do think that adding third party repos which aren't directly supported by CentOS without ranking those repos does create problems. |

Hi, Caitlyn That it does, that it does:) I used Steven's link and got a good install in minutes. Merry Christmas. |

The Fedora auxiliary repo is rpmfusion. The CentOS auxiliary repo is EPEL. It's always good to stay in the family when adding repos to your distribution. That way you are installing things that are tested for compatibility with the other packages in that family. |

Thanks, guys. I'm a longtime Debian user and just had to give 6.3 a whirl to see how it feels. Silky and high quality feel...may just switch to it eventually for the long time to EOL |

If you're talking about desktop use you may want to look at Stella. It's basically CentOS + desktop apps and codecs missing from the main CentOS repos. http://li.nux.ro/stella/ |

Stella!!!!!!!!!! I've tried it, and I like it. It makes it very easy to get all the software you need in a RHEL/CentOS environment. |

Thanks again, Caitlyn... tried Stella and found it to be all you said it was. By the way my granddaughter is named Kaitlyn with a k. Merry Christmas and God bless you all. |
