Step in the right direction

This and offering the Cinnamon desktop are steps in the right direction for desktop users. The real problems are concentrated in the new installer. It needs a *lot* of work. The primary problem is an unacceptably inflexible partitioning scheme. I encountered it trying to install 18 beta and it sucks. You should be able to specify existing partitions to reformat for installation but if that option is there they have hidden it well. Selecting packages to install on initial install is also more restrictive than with the older anaconda installer. One can at least work around that with a package manager after installation, but the partitioning shortcomings make Fedora 18 unusable for me. |
