The new beta version of Firefox 15 promises to use significantly less memory than its predecessors

So did:

14

13

12

10

etc

etc

etc

By now, it should be at almost Zero. FF has always had nasty memory leaks....and sure they get patched eventually but sheesh.....you'd think by now they'd have a handle on this.

For that matter, Netscape had memory leaks.

It's one of the few features to have been continuous through all iterations.

Psuh, Firefox' memory usage is now so awesome, you actually GAIN memory by running it.

FF15 and FF16, as I recall, have specific features added to deal with leaky/badly-written addons (which seem to be the worst cause of memory overuse nowadays) - this isn't just another "no, really, it'll be a little bit better again this time" announcement.
