Nonsense! This is what the story claims: "....without signing up for a waiting list – however delivery may still take a little while." So, IOW, you can now purchase the pi, and let your $$ accrue interest for someone else, but YOU must still wait for delivery. How long? Here is what Allied Electronics, who retails the pi in the USA, has on their website: "*Please note that the estimated delivery time will be 12 weeks." http://www.alliedelec.com/lp/120626raso/ So, it's still a waiting game, regardless of what "lookee me" bloggers might claim. nb |

A friend of mine recently placed an order for his RPi and received a standard 12 week lead time response. However, it arrived yesterday. It does seem that the supply is easing up. The published guaranteed leadtimes are still set at 12 weeks, but in reality, shipping is happening much faster than that now. |

Hmmmm.... In that case, I may make the leap. At that price, why not. I paid more for my Arduino Uno and Adafruit and others are already making accessories and boards for it. I wanted to get the ODROID-X, and may still, but these new ARM micro-puters are now springing up like weeds. Probably couldn't hurt to wait and see what else hits the market. nb |

I just checked the Element 14 site and their published leadtime is now 5 weeks. When I placed an order this morning for a couple more units, I was given a delivery estimate of August 15 (29 days). Update: It gets even better. The email confirmation I got from this morning's order shows an expected ship date of July 24. That's only five business days leadtime! |

I could have canceled the order at any time before that, and no money would ever have changed hands. Chill, dude. |
