My main concern is that they don't drop support for too many legacy graphics cards and chipsets. I tend to keep my hardware until it dies of old age so long as it remains somewhat useful.

My main concern is a lack of support for modern graphics cards from commercial vendors. If I can't have nvidia graphics drivers on my system it is fairly useless.

Me too, I only have one modern graphics card and it sucks on Linux (ATI 5770) so relegated it to a Windows machine, the rest are all old Nvidia the oldest being a GF6800 and youngest a GF7300. Will be investing in some new Nvidia cards next year as im done with AMD/ATI cards.

Sheesh, I didn't realize how far behind my hardware is -- all three of my PCs use a GF6600 - and they all work perfectly fine with Debian Sqeeze's Nouveau drivers (I don't use any 3D).

Fear not guys and gals, I don't believe X-server is going away any time soon.

Ha! I've got an nVidia 260GTX and that is considered fairly old tech by most gaming standards ;)

That being said I enjoy Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 as my games of choice these days.
