I can't understand why tech sites report something so unbelievably unimportant! So Ubuntu 11.10 got Thunderbird 11.0 in its repositories. Guess what... so did most other distributions! Big freak'n deal! Moreover, it's a relatively trivial task to enable one of several Mozilla related PPAs in Ubuntu and thereafter receive the latest versions of Firefox and Thunderbird anyway. I think one of Ubuntu's developers had a stomach flu last weekend. Maybe we should do a feature article about his status and recovery. Geesh! |

They report it because som,e PR hack working for Canonical sent out a press release. The object of that press release is not Thunderbird, but yet another excuse to get the U word in print once again. |
