That counts as news? A bloated desktop runs quickly on powerful hardware? Gee, surprising. How about they design it to run quickly on SLOW hardware - then it will be fast by default when you put it behind something powerful. E clips along on my 800mhz single core ARM netbook with no complaints. I'm afraid to see how slow Gnome3/Unity would run on it after seeing how much of a dog Gnome 2 is on the little guy xD ~Jeff |

Jeff, I run Mint cinnamon on a 1.2mhz intel and it runs very nicely if you want that datapoint ;-) |

Several days ago, I read that Mint Cinnamon is "sweet." ;) I wonder what speed that is. |

Traceyanne, It runs as well as gnome 2 and xfce. Compared to a beefy cpu (intel 2.5mhz) I see little slowdown. Bob, Sweet! |
