Fixed, sorry |

Effing posting form loses Linux.com links. |

Bit.ly? |

Yeah gus3, because we love unnecessary extra steps to post stories. |

Maybe it was copyrighted and reposting it would have been a felony. |

OMG Bob, and I remembered some of it after reading. I hope you will all visit me at Club Fed. |
Bob_Robertson Mar 16, 2012 4:13 PM EDT |
No worries, TC. Of course, I'll likely need a passport to cross state lines to visit you. |

Did you test the link in Preview before posting? |
BernardSwiss Mar 16, 2012 7:03 PM EDT |
You can't test the link when you submit a link (you'll just get a polite message saying: "The story you looking for is gone. It was either retracted, or never did exist." |

What I've been doing is submitting the story, then opening it in the pending queue to paste the link back in. Whee fun. I should try using a URL shortener just to see what happens when it collides with LXer's PHP scripts. |

I see the same thing happen on Groklaw. I suspect it's an issue with form submission, or perhaps contradictory assumptions between the browser(s) and the server-side. |
