... or maybe even the suggestion of trying or extracting some of the best from OpenBSD.

I use openSuse and I'm not annoyed by the security/root authentication prompts. Then again, I'm my own admin, so I always know the root passwd. (Side bar: Windows 7 asks for admin approval far more than openSuse -- even when logged in as the administrative user.)

I can see how it may be preferable for someone who shouldn't work as root (non technical humans) to be able to make some "changes" such as network or printer setup. Perhaps openSuse could add a setup/configuration choice of the current security model vs assigning users sudo permission for certain configuration items.

Now TC, that was just too low.

He should use Debian. Everyone should. It's perfect.

@BR +1 (if you mean Debian Stable).

Ah, CompBob, that's the true beauty of Debian, the Queen of Distributions!

Stable, for people who want stable. Funeral Homes, Volvo drivers, the CIA, etc.

Testing, for the adventurous types. Mountain climbers, private pilots, Libertarian Party candidates, etc.

Unstable, because Sid breaks all his toys. Mostly masochists and Emo who are desperate for their system to cut itself.

Experimental, because everyone needs a crazy uncle Ron so that they think their own lives are safe and secure in comparison.

Debian/Linux, Debian/HURD, Debian/BSD, the list seems endless as do the arguments and flame wars!

If Debian is the queen of distros, then Slackware is the king! Uh-huh!

And soon, the king will return, as foretold.

Please, stop me before I have to banish myself.
