Then buy a laptop or a netbook (if you care about size). No matter how hard you try to make it otherwise, for more real work having a "real" computer just makes things far easier.

Tablets are fun toys, but they are just that - toys.

What about a netbook running Android? Yes, they do exist.

What about apps that help you stay organized, even if they don't include cost accounting or grammar checkers? Yes, they exist, too.

Office suites aren't the only kind of productivity software.

You want a computer: Buy a laptop or desktop

You want a highly mobile connection device: Buy a smart phone

You want to read ebooks: Buy a (very) cheap Kindle/Nook etc

You want to watch movies on a plane or on the road: Don't be a dumb@ss or buy your kids a specialty app.

Don't buy a tablet it is not required and is mediocre at many things so really cannot replace some of the above.
