... to the adoption of Linux in general, here comes this written piece's quote in relation to Ubuntu:
Quoting:Although still in the early days of discussion with just a few mock-ups available, ambitions for Ubuntu TV are very much in line with Shuttleworth’s apparent new focus on “Ubuntu everywhere”. At the same time, it may be fair to say that Newton's infamous Third Law of Motion can be and will be applied here, namely Quoting:For every force that an object exerts on a second object, there is a force equal in magnitude but opposite in direction exerted by the second object on the first object.(source: http://electron9.phys.utk.edu/phys135d/modules/m4/3rdLaw.htm ) I.e., the opposing force of resistance to "Shuttleworth’s apparent new focus" can and will increase. Could Mint 12's recent rise in the DistroWatch HPD rankings at the expense of Ubuntu (see http://distrowatch.com ) be one sign of this opposing force of resistance? As another possible sign of this "opposing force", how about the increasing number of sentiments similar to those expressed at the recent LXer thread 'What's it gonna be?' found at http://lxer.com/module/forums/t/32473/? |

Who honestly cares? If Bling Shuttleworth can increase linux use then good for him. Kind of reminds me of Steve Jobs who took BSD unix and turned it into Macs, iphones and ipads. Which makes you think that Bling has missed the boat. |

So, I haven't done the calendar math yet but isn't the "debut" of Unity on pads pretty close to Win 8's Metro release? Should be a fun slugfest to watch....it's totally amusing to see a market reply "meh" in unison. |
