I guess if the outrage is strong enough (as if there were varying levels of outrage), things happen...I mean aside of #Occupy... |

Yeah! I say UN-Occupy Bling and maybe UN-Occupy Duckduckgo as well. There, I've just joined the chorus. -fb |

Am I understanding that DDG incorporates Bing? If so, what flufferbeer said. |

I think DDG is an agregator.
They submit querries to multiple search engines like wolfram, Bing as well as others.
Then they massage the output and display what their algorithms say is the best mix.
http://blog.wolframalpha.com/2011/04/18/wolframalpha-and-duc... Here is a pretty good write up on them: http://www.mylinuxrig.com/post/5963246756/duckduckgo-a-searc... DDG's main claim to fame is that they don't track you. They do track what gets searched, but they don't really care to keep all that history linked to a particular individual: http://duckduckgo.com/privacy.html I like that they suggest other privacy minded search engines like scroogle and Ixquick on their privacy page. That makes a lot of sense then. Thanks for the clarification. My severe allergy to anything MS makes me overly-cautious and often caustic. Still DuckDuckGo..... |
