Exactly. If I want a phone, I'll get a phone. If I want a Personal Amusement Device (aka smart phone), I'll get... No, wait – I don't WANT a Personal Amusement Device, especially if it is the only interface between me and my files.

hmm, it sounds just like what in dutch is called plezier stokje, which literally would translate as pleasure stick, aka joystick...

i am a programmer, i like my phone to be programmable. so you reckon i should keep the openmoko distribution and skip android?

except that android is actually usable as a phone...
