open a terminal,

and enter the following commands:

sudo aptitude purge tomboy
sudo aptitude install gnote
 
(or if you're old-school, you can do apt-get instead of aptitude)

su -
apt-get purge tomboy
apt-get install gnote
that works just as well...

Just rip out Mono and Tomboy dissapears with it, always the first thing I do in synaptic after a linux install.

Tomboy ships with the Debian GNOME desktop. I was prepared to use it but couldn't copy/paste from a Tomboy note to another document. Not a problem in Gnote.

At this point I'm not using either one, though.
