Not me :(

I didn't think it would go thwap! quite so fast. I didn't think they'd have the bare-faced the chutzpa, at least, not without some lead-time and an excuse to sweep it under.

I'm just not cynical enough for my own good...

I think I'm missing something. People seem to think that putting an end to the cooperation between Digium and Skype means no more Skype for Linux. But that doesn't make sense to me, Asterisk wasn't the Skype client for Linux in the first place so how can it possibly mean "the end of Skype for Linux"?

Please, someone, help me understand this "it's the end of Skype on Linux" logic.

Asterisk sells a Skype channel plugin for $60 that lets you send/receive Skype calls. We use it on TLLTS Asterisk box for our freedom hating guests that insist on using Skype to call in. I believe the plugin will work for another 2 years until the license agreement runs out.

It's fine that existing systems will continue working in the short run, but that doesn't alleviate the need for long term solutions. The bottom line is that M$ is right on time, slowly killing of support for Skype from anyone but them & on their software. I'm waiting on when they'll kill it on the N900. The only thing to prevent that is their new deal (or deals) with Nokia.
