Bad advice in my opinion.

First, the only supported upgrade method by the Fedora Project is a media upgrade using a DVD. Second, Preupgrade requires a /boot partition of 500MB. New installations of any version of Fedora prior to Fedora 13 create a /boot partition of only 200MB which is not big enough to support Preupgrade. When Preupgrade runs out of space, you'll be left with a mess. My personal recommendation is keep your /home on it's own partition, and clean install each new version of Fedora. (It's also worth noting that Fedora 15 doesn't exist yet. While it is very close to release, it could still have serious bugs.) |
