I can tell you that placing ads on a website does not hurt and the intended audiences do not mind an ad but do mind excessive, intrusive advertisement. There is a fine line but then comes results and revenue... It's problematic to be sure but their are solutions such as flattr, distributed applications (boinc, p2p, bt). The free web will only continue to exist if the infrastructure that that was built on has garnered if enough supporter's to continue to exist. I have to agree 100% with this article and hope that my comment helps to create ideas for lxer and similar sites. And limiting yourself to just say flattr or paypal is prolly bad idea so to utilize as many resources as can be done is prolly bes suitable |
