Backup?

For about a year or so, I make an ('reverse' incremental) backup whenever doing some serious update to my system. I learned from some ICT people who actually studied 'system administration' never to do something without a 'rollback' plan. But I think, most people don't reconsider how to rollback. Sadly, neither does the package manager - most of the time. I think having some sort of 'snapshot' before updating migh come in really handy, but I'm not sure how to accomplish except for using LVM's snapshot of course. |
