I don't understand this

It appears to me that programming a linux device driver is vastly easier than a Windows device driver. I admit to very little experience, mainly futzing around trying to get a Belkin cheap-o wireless card to work, but the amount of... *stuff* in the Windows driver, the sheer number of files, seems to indicate that they require a lot more work. I would expect that getting a Linux driver going first would help validate the hardware, if nothing else, and then knowing all the peculiarities going in, the Windows driver would happen faster. But I guess I just don't understand the realities of todays fast-paced, cutting-edge, low-margin Pee Cee business. |

That makes you an experienced linux Device Driver developer. Maybe you should offer your services. |
