There is also the latest version of Finnix; version 100 in developer Ryan Finnie's version-numbering system.

Website is at http://www.finnix.org/ and Finnie's release notice is at http://blog.finnix.org/2010/10/28/finnix-100-released/

No glowing Finnix-100 reviews yet, as Brockmeier does for grml in this LinuxPlanet piece, but Finnix remains an extremely stable "admin's toolbox with minimal fluff and maximum usability", even in its 100-version.

As a 125MB squashfs iso download for x86 / AMD64 systems, Finnix-100 is much lighter than both the standard grml and grml-medium, while still managing to pack an impressive punch as an immensely useful text-based liveCD.

I use SysRescueCD, it's Gentoo-based and never let me down. Something Debian-based might be handy as an alternative though, so thanks for the tip!
