Namely, listen to and communicate with your volunteers. After the treatment the OpenSolaris community got from Oracle, I'm not inspired to do any kind of business with them, monetized or otherwise. |

On the other hand, the level of commitment expressed in that article for Linux is a lot more than what the OpenSolaris folks got... |
