The Linux version of Omnis Studio appears to be little more than a port of the code with little or no regard to Linux best practice. Your choices for using Omnis Studio are: Install Omnis Studio to your personal home Directories, from the archive, or install it from the RPM or deb (convert it to deb with alien on debian based distros) and run it as root,

When I installed it I had to register for a serial number for the "free" standard version, which after 3 attempts I have so far not received. The "free" standard version allows you to test it for up to 1 hour, if you don't have the serial number. During that hour Omnis Studio for Linux crashed 5 times, requiring a restart each time.

This is hardly quality software.

Sounds like much Windows software I used, long ago and far away...

I posted my comments on Linux User and Developer, and they have, after 3 days, failed to appear. I reposted the comments again, so we'll see what happens.
