Novell won handily in the Jury trial, and in the earlier bench trial, but the Pro-SCO Trolls are still out in full force. Check out the comments on the Techdirt article covering the Judge's verdict: http://techdirt.com/articles/20100610/1629469773.shtml?threa... Techdirt has at least two resident trolls, one does an e e cummings type "I'm too cool for caps" thing, the other is a worthy opponent, complete with a range of comebacks. Both post as "Anonymous Coward", although the latter troll is believed to previously have posted as "The Anti-Mike". Both resident trolls and an apparent free-lancer have to resort to sophistries to put together arguments. I'd like to call on major sites like Techdirt and Groklaw to "out" the IP addresses of their resident trolls. |

Well, whatta ya know? A web site outing one of its trolls: http://www.p2pnet.net/story/36178 I heartily encourage TechDirt to out "The Anti-Mike" and the two Anonymous Coward trolls (one of which many suspect to also be "The Anti-Mike"). |

PJ@Groklaw has put up an essay she wrote a while back. It's about building a successful online community, with a special section about dealing with trolls and astroturfers: http://www.groklaw.net/article.php?story=20100614034659206 |

Oh, and I don't see how Novell's future can look so bright, when they're fishing for a buyer. The old gray mare ain't what she used to be. If SCO could at this point make good on the Asset Purchase Agreement's terms, Novell might get a prop-up for a while, but that obviously won't happen, with SCO in "reorganizational" bankruptcy and the lawyers draining the assets. |
