This is Business as usual.

The Company is owned by an investor who has been working to get Mandriva to a point where they can make a good retrun on their investment, and Mandriva has been officially up for sale for years. I didn't even bother reading the article to which this responds, as it was old news to me.

Per Google finance, Microsoft's current market capitalization is $247.49 billion.

So figure about $125 billion to buy up slightly more than half the company, at which point you would have effective control.
