....it's just AMP, not LAMP.

The reason I mention that is because the article defines LAMP as including the three other components, but not Linux.

The site is called Linux Links. I guess it's just assumed.

The article is currently on a Linux site, but it could just as easily be picked up by a Windows site or a business site tomorrow.

Even though title of the article includes the word "MySQL," the author still listed MySQL as being one of the components of LAMP, instead of assuming that everyone would know that.

Basically, there's no good reason to NOT mention that Linux is one of the four components of LAMP, especially when you're defining what "LAMP" means.

I have to go with Linux being assumed Bob. I can't remember the last time I posted something from them and it wasn't Linux related..

So then, if the article is republished by an Apache site, the editor of that site should remove all references to Apache and insert a reference to Linux? And similarly, if it is republished by a MySQL site or a PHP site?

It seems to me that if an article takes it upon itself to define the components that LAMP includes, it should include all four components that LAMP includes, no matter if the article is originally published on a Linux site, an Apache site, a MySQL site, a PHP site, or a site that is none of the above.

To do any less is to offer an incorrect definition of LAMP.
