So I go to the Unixmen site and read another story. Comment that there is a typo (and not like a jerk, but politely), actually they had a command line in what was supposed to go in a configuration file. So they correct it and delete my comment. Is it just me or was that un-cool? |

I don't know, but I do see that regularly. I don't know that I consider it un-cool because once the correction is made the comment is misleading. |

I usually see another comment by the author that the correction was made. I think it makes for a better site, that the community wants to support the site. I doubt I will submit another comment to their site. No biggie. |

I have to date been unimpressed with the unixmen site, it was relegated to my 'dont bother' list some time ago. |

It's about perception, they don't want to be perceived as being wrong or incorrect when they're trying to become an authority for information which to me, is an attempt at being infallible which we all know is not possible for any human endeavor. |

My last take on this is the following from the site (emphasis mine):Quoting: Note : If the command above diden`t work for you, just retype the quotations "" and will work for you.I think they meant "remove" the quotations. *SIGH* |
