An Atom N450 consumes over 3 times the power of a Cortex A8. That's appart from the Cortex A8 being - from what I understand - far more integrated with 'peripheral' chips (GSM, Bleutooth etc) than the 'oldschool' N450. The iPad features the Cortex A8 and still has problems of becoming overheated. Having an 'iPad killer' with some lousy Atom N450? Where I worked, I learned not to say the word 'Impossible'. Instead, we said: "It's a challenge". Not to mention it currently runs Windows, just like the HP Slate / JoJo. Together with the Atom, this doesn't even qualify as a 'challenge', but more appropriate as 'most epic fail of the decade'. |
