Joe Brockmeier makes a good point - it's not a bad idea to run different distros on different machines not so much to find the "one true" installation but to keep yourself in the know about how things are done in various environments. |

Some people are explorers. Some are not. Case closed. |
hkwint Feb 27, 2010 11:53 AM EDT |
OK, now the case is closed, let's talk about KDE4. Volunteers? |

Hans -- I absolutely LOVED this year's Fourth Annual Kindergarten Diorama Exhibition. So much talent! So much unexpected attention to detail to go along with the eager young creativity. So much eagerness to please teachers, parents, and, really, just about anybody taking a serious interest in their work. I wonder if all KDE4s are as brilliant as that one? |

Ooowwwwwcchhhhh..... |

KDE4? I hope it is a wise lesson for Gnome 3. Finding a good, usable and likeable DE is much more time consuming than distro hopping. ;) |

"OK, now the case is closed, let's talk about KDE4. Volunteers?" KDE 4 hopping? :-) |
dinotrac Feb 27, 2010 3:08 PM EDT |
>KDE 4 hopping? Hopping? Hmmmmm. Maybe that's the feature that makes it all worthwhile? |
gus3 Feb 27, 2010 3:21 PM EDT |
Hop 'n' change... |
dinotrac Feb 27, 2010 3:26 PM EDT |
The Audacity of Hop. |
azerthoth Feb 27, 2010 3:41 PM EDT |
sadly many of us are still hopping for some change. |
tuxchick Feb 27, 2010 4:54 PM EDT |
So many twaps earned, so little time. |
tuxchick Feb 27, 2010 5:10 PM EDT |
Not that I'm jealous because I have no talent at creating really awful puns like everyone else here. |
azerthoth Feb 27, 2010 5:36 PM EDT |
wabbit twaps? |
gus3 Feb 27, 2010 6:46 PM EDT |
Of course. Hop 'n' change! |
dinotrac Feb 27, 2010 7:29 PM EDT |
Oh, children, children, children. It's not that I don't appreciate your efforts. I do, really I do. But...let's face it --- You pale before the master. |
azerthoth Feb 27, 2010 7:52 PM EDT |
oh, should I rise to the bait? |
gus3 Feb 27, 2010 8:03 PM EDT |
Can you hop that high? |
alc Feb 27, 2010 8:47 PM EDT |
One small hop for man,one great hop for mankind. |
dinotrac Feb 27, 2010 9:10 PM EDT |
You make me so proud. Lxer -- It's what's hoppening. |
jdixon Feb 27, 2010 9:25 PM EDT |
> You make me so proud. Sorry to let everyone down, but I'm somewhat under weather today. Hmm, maybe I should fix myself some Welsh rarebit. |
dinotrac Feb 27, 2010 11:09 PM EDT |
jd - So Tom Jones was telling this story: A guy on the street told me that he was really really hungry. That things were so bad that he rarely got a bite to eat, so... I Welsh rarebit him. |
hkwint Feb 28, 2010 10:13 PM EDT |
Nothing to say. |
gus3 Feb 28, 2010 11:22 PM EDT |
hans, for someone with nothing to say, you still manage to say it. |
Bob_Robertson Mar 01, 2010 9:45 AM EDT |
What kind of twaps were you following, Doc? Ah, train twaps. Well, if you was following train twaps, then you must have been trying to catch a train. |
azerthoth Mar 01, 2010 12:19 PM EDT |
them aint train twaps, them thar is moose twaps. |
dinotrac Mar 01, 2010 1:09 PM EDT |
Build a better moose twap, and the world will beat a path from your door. Bullwinkle aside, mooses is mean. |
Bob_Robertson Mar 02, 2010 10:03 AM EDT |
I heard two guys on the radio last week who had never heard of Omar Khayyam. I really thought "The Ruby Yacht of Omar Khayyam" pun used by Rocket J. Squirrel and Bullwinkle J. Moose would always be known. Just a Bullwinkle aside. |
dinotrac Mar 02, 2010 10:11 AM EDT |
Sigh.
Yet more proof that American culture is going to Jello in a handbasket. We should sit them all in a corner and make them wear the Kerward Derby. |
gus3 Mar 02, 2010 10:43 AM EDT |
@dino: I would say quite the opposite. Thanks to the Internet, we are now in a position where everyone can look back and see how the cultural bits connected. For example, Candice Bergen and John Astin each left their touch on "Addams Family Values". Okay, you're right, it's going to Jello... |
dinotrac Mar 02, 2010 10:54 AM EDT |
;0) |
hkwint Mar 02, 2010 7:54 PM EDT |
I commented in the wrong forum, that's why I edited it to 'Nothing to say'. A simple - might have been less contradicting I guess? |
gus3 Mar 02, 2010 8:57 PM EDT |
I guess I didn't see what you meant to say elsewhere, before you redacted it. |
