OpenOffice 3.2.0 is so good and so fast that for the first time I have removed/uninstalled the "native" or default copy of OpenOffice (a very old OpenOffice 3.0) from my current desktop installation: openSUSE 11.0 and am working only with the latest version of OpenOffice. My system has happily accepted the change and all defaults are now switched over to OO3.2.........I am impressed with its speed and am very confident that any .doc files that I have to send to any "heathen and unwashed" computer users (umm...those still working with Microsoft Office) will be able to read them instantly and in the same format I see on my OpenOffice desktop. Well done OO.org team and I hope the vote of confidence from me will be one of millions......
