Just for the record, and for those that really don't like the command line, Crossover Office is another excellent way of doing the same thing using only the mouse and graphical installation - if you like, it is the fully graphical front end to Wine with quite a few extra abilities tacked on. And the Crossover Office group uses the same Wine base and works hand in glove with the Wine project. Certainly, you pay a small sum (either 40 or 70 dollars for the standard or professional packs), but the convenience and ease of use is marvellous. I have used Crossover Office now for the past 5 years and never hesitate to pay to keep it upgraded to the latest version as a method of supporting the activity of the Crossover Office group.

Wine is fantastic and a credit to the energy and efforts of a dedicated group of people. I just have the personal preference for the simplicity and ease of use of Crossover Office.

Unless you took advantage of their giveaway last year. :) Though that version is now outdated, I believe.

And I do believe that Codeweavers actually employ the lead Wine developer. So money for Crossover is money for Wine.

I might be wrong though. If so, don't correct me, I prefer my version of the story. :P
