Good news in a way. Its yet more evidence that Microsoft is LYING when they claim they want interoperability, or at least that when they say that they want it to only be a one-way-street towards Windows, not one that allows both sides to interoperate. It is also an excellent opportunity for someone else, possibly a free software/open source project (or more than one) to fill this void and take these customers away from Microsoft. A good way to go about doing this would be to create a work-alike product for the Linux version of ESP 5.3 (or adapt an existing free package to be a drop-in replacement for it). Make it easier and cheaper for users to replace ESP with something else than to change server platforms to Windows or even to be forced to run a multi-platform server environment. Here is a message that Microsoft probably won't listen to, but should... Ignoring the fastest growing server platform in hopes to try to prop up your Windows server business will lose you more business than it gets you. Linux doesn't need you to validate it in the server market space as much as you need support for multiple platforms to validate you as a viable enterprise software vendor. |

I have an IIS server or two that I work with, and it's no picnic in terms of reliability or services. |
