I liked the thought of Zimbra being a solution you could install onsite. However, there is a history of some companies purchasing these things and either melting them into something that is SaaS only or they bury it so deep it eventually dies off. It's FOSS, that's heartening, but it has corporate development and has grown tremendously as it is. Yahoo grabbed a lot of the technology and put it in its own online email and calendar. They didn't really seem to market it very much but I don't know what "wins" they got with it. What will VMware do? |
