Not that I really care, since I don't use FB, but I didn't see any mention of cross-platformness. |

.. and speaking about FB ;) I found these Facebook profiles. searching for Caitlyn Martin LXer's FB: Caitlyn Martin (Bellingham, WA) This person is a He, and his Bellingham, WA, US locale is less than 2 hours South of big-city Vancouver, BC, Canada. There's also a Facebook profile for a 15-year old Caitlyn Martin, a She. (not related to FB, but there's also a renown Ohio State Buckeyes soccer player Caitlyn Martin, who is also a She, but she certainly isn't the one and the same person as the IT caitlyn... also without a Facebook profile) -fb |

@flufferbeer: There are many more than that. It's a surprisingly common name. If you add spelling variations (i.e.: Caitlin) it gets to be really, really common. When I did my third and final contract for IBM Global Services I was on site dedicated to one customer. At that customer site the standard for username was first initial, last name. They had a maybe 1000 user accounts on that network. I was the 13th cmartin. The standard to resolve conflicts like that was to add letter from the first name but we still had an eight character limit. Then you start chopping off bits of the last name. Any guess what I ended up with? For the record: I am not on Facebook and have no plans to be. I am on Linkedin. |

Well, I see that this Ohio State Buckeyes soccer player Caitlyn Martin w/o a FB profile is called K-Mart.
And on FB profiles, TC's Schroder certainly has one, but there's also one by a Carla Schroeder Rogers (extra 'e' in the Schroder). This 2nd Schroeder looks about the same age as the K-Mart Caitlyn Martin. caitmart Now wouldn't it be funny if any of these young women use the New Facebook Desktop Client By Adobe on HannahMontanaLinux :D ?? But then again, the Hannah Montana phenomena is probably utterly irrelevant for college-age women on up, whilst Facebook and Twitter will stay as the rage. Still.... hopefully Linux of any type will catch on. |

Quoting:Hannah Montana phenomena is probably utterly irrelevant for college-age women on up Well, probably somebody decided the college-generation is already lost to proprietary software and we have to aim for younger children? I mean, you might have noticed the absence of 'teletubbix' about a decade ago, which probably explains a lot. |

This Facebook thing is an Adobe Air app, so it does run on Linux. |
