Retailers should stand behind the products they sell - in which case they'd be careful to sell good quality products. I'm very impressed that Amazon gave you a refund. Online retailers that I've dealt with have not been so good. I might have to look at Amazon in the future.

In our (mine and my wife's) experience, Amazon's customer support has always been excellent.

I'm actually sorry I couldn't buy my replacement netbook from Amazon. They've certainly gone out of their way to earn my business. Their decision to stop carrying Linux netbooks is truly unfortunate. Anyway, at least I can say something good about them when they clearly deserve it.
